Tell us about your first 30 days at Acro
From day one, I was greeted (virtually) by a team of awesome people who seemed as excited as I was to help me succeed and learn the ropes. People were throwing meetings in my calendar to say hello and see what I needed help with. There was no time to waste as I began to prepare to take over from my lovely new co-worker, who was leaving for maternity leave within four weeks of my arrival!
One thing that struck me immediately is how everyone at Acro wholeheartedly embraces the company's core values and lives by them daily. It's not just something they’ve slapped in the company HR handbook; you see it and feel it in the way they treat each other, support one another, and approach their work. Specifically, ‘Empowerment,’ ‘Flexibility,’ ‘Relationships,’ and ‘Responsibility,’ it’s been wonderful to work with a team that truly stands by and integrates the Company Values into their everyday.
My first month at Acro Commerce has been an exciting journey filled with valuable experiences and support. The training and onboarding process has been awesome, I even had the pleasure of meeting the team in Kelowna as they flew me to the office from Vancouver in my second week (I think it was just an excuse to go to the pub together for Trivia 😉 ).
So, while I may have had to learn at the speed of light in my first month, the support and camaraderie from my colleagues has been glorious; we’ve got daily dad jokes being thrown around, a dedicated slack channel to ‘ooo and arrr’ over each other’s pets, movie club nights and endless opportunities to mock each other about, anything really. I feel lucky to have landed with such great people, and I can't wait to see what the next few months bring.
