Drupal Commerce 2: How to add a Solr datasource field for product search
Apache Solr is a powerful search engine used by many of the largest websites on the planet. It's highly customizable, allowing you to configure content catalogues and search results by any content datasource (such as title, brand, colour, price, keyword, taxonomy, etc.). You can also assign priority levels to each datasource so your users are more likely to find the content they're looking for.
Our Urban Hipster Drupal Commerce 2 demo site uses Solr for product catalogue functionality and as a product search. In this Acro Commerce Tech Talk video, we'll show you how you can make new datasources searchable to your users.
